My stage of work in Ukraine was connected with obtaining professional education, developing technical skills, and participating in exhibition activities.
After moving to Europe, I realized that this experience was not sufficient for further growth, and I began to rethink my artistic practice, expanding it beyond the academic system and classical formats.

“Unity” — Art Performance
Format / Type:
Collective art performance / collaborative painting
Description:
“Unity” is an art performance in which people from different countries jointly create a single artwork inspired by Ukrainian folk painting. The participants represent diverse cultures and life experiences, and each contributes to a shared visual composition.
The project symbolizes intercultural dialogue, mutual respect, and the possibility of unity through art. In this performance, Ukrainian folk painting functions not only as an artistic form but also as a carrier of identity, memory, and living tradition.
The collaborative process of creating the painting becomes an act of solidarity, where individual gestures merge into a unified artwork reflecting the ideas of unity, cooperation, and cultural exchange.

🟦 Performance “Personal Opinion”
I began experimenting with performative practice in public space. In one of the projects, I went to a city square, drew a square on the ground, and stood in its center.
I remained within the boundaries of this square in silence, in direct interaction with the flow of people in the city. Passersby reacted in different ways — from confusion to questions and observation — but the gesture itself remained unchanged.
In this performance, the square symbolizes personal boundaries and the space of one’s own opinion. Despite external pressure and the constant presence of others, I maintained my position within the chosen form.
In a broader context, the work also refers to themes of resilience and the preservation of boundaries under external pressure.

🐧 But Why — Project Description
But Why is an art project about the moment when a person chooses to step away from a shared direction and move along their own path.
The starting point was a story about a penguin that leaves its group and walks into the mountains — without explanation and without an obvious reason. This gesture of “why?” became the foundation of the project.
In collaboration with an artist from Hong Kong, small ceramic penguin sculptures were created based on my sketches. These objects are placed in urban environments — near old, abandoned, or functionally obsolete buildings.
The penguin is turned away from the past and directed toward open space. This is not an escape, but a conscious act of distancing — a refusal to remain in something that is no longer alive.
Each sculpture has coordinates. It can be found and taken. At that moment, the work leaves the author’s control and becomes part of the personal story of the person who discovers it.
The project exists as a chain of quiet gestures: placement, discovery, disappearance. It is not an object for observation, but an action — about choice, movement, and the right to go in a different direction, even if no one understands why.

After military service, I became a multidisciplinary artist working across various fields: painting, graphics, sculpture, performance, and project-based practices.
In my practice, I engage both with classical genres — such as portrait, still life, and miniature — and with contemporary artistic methods and educational formats.
I try not to focus on a single technique, as not every idea can be expressed within one medium.
For me, it is important to choose the form that most precisely corresponds to the idea — whether it is painting, an object, an action, or work involving people and space.
The idea always comes first, while the material is only a means of its manifestation.

I developed a project featuring a series of miniature sculptures as part of a tender application. During the preparation process, I studied the history of the city and, based on local narratives, created a range of sketches — from more complex and conceptual to lighter, ironic, and playful ones.
Although the project was not selected in the tender, I decided to realize it independently using my own resources.
This allowed me to maintain artistic independence and continue developing the idea beyond the constraints of the competition.

Then I created the sculpture “Kneeling Angel,” which is part of a ritual complex. The work developed in stages: first, a small clay sketch was made, followed by an enlarged plaster model. After that, through a scaling system and frame construction, the form was transferred into stone.
I paid particular attention to the facial expression at a small scale — a complex task requiring precise work with form and subtle plastic nuances. The image contains a dual emotional state: a slight smile and, at the same time, a hidden sense of sorrow, creating an internal tension close to the “Mona Lisa effect.”
  • Full responsibility for the project — from a sketch the size of a matchbox to the realization of a large stone complex, including all stages of development, supervision, and execution.
  • The pointing system was used, as well as the transfer of the plaster model into stone.

Mutual support.
The “Mutual Support” sculpture project went through several stages of development for me. Initially, it was part of a competition proposal that included a series of sketches for miniature sculptures. Although the project was not selected in the tender, I chose to further develop one of the sketches independently.
I purchased the stone with my own funds, found a workspace and the necessary tools, and fully realized the sculpture in material form. I then initiated discussions at the city level, organizing a review of the possibility of installing the work in a public urban space.
Later, in the context of the outbreak of war, I independently took responsibility for the preservation and transportation of the work, including its relocation to Estonia and the subsequent organizational support of the project.
For me, this process became not only an artistic endeavor, but also a confirmation of my readiness to take full responsibility for an idea — from sketch to realization and the further life of the artwork in public space.
  • The project went through a full development cycle: from a competition application to a realized sculpture.
  • After being rejected in the tender, I independently continued the development of the selected sketch.
  • I fully financed and organized the production (stone, tools, workspace).
  • I initiated public discussions at the city level regarding the potential installation of the work in public space.
  • I ensured the preservation and transportation of the work under wartime conditions, continuing the project’s realization in another country.

Educational Cards is one of my key author projects, which has gone through several stages of development and transformation. A full description of the project is available via the link.
The project is a system of collectible cards in an author’s interpretation: unlike traditional cards, they must be drawn by hand. In this way, each card functions both as an object and as a tool for learning.
The project is aimed at developing artistic skills in an accessible form and is based on the principles of an ecological approach to materials and the creative process.
As part of the project, I was responsible for its development, presentation, and production, as well as for protecting its authorship and concept.
During one of my workshops, the event was attended by a journalist from one of Finland’s leading newspapers. At that time, I presented my educational card project and explained its concept and educational function.
The project attracted the journalist’s interest and was subsequently featured in a publication. This case became an important confirmation of media attention to my artistic and educational practice.

My application was not accepted on the first attempt; however, after subsequent submissions and the development of my practice, I successfully passed the selection and became a member of the organization.
What I expect from the union of artists.
From a collaboration, I primarily expect support and the opportunity for joint realization of projects. It is difficult to manage and develop all directions alone, especially when each project requires full involvement.
I try to invest myself fully in every idea and take on a significant part of the work, so for me it is important to have cooperation based on role distribution and mutual support.

Idea:
🌲 Performance “Personal Opinion (Forest)”
As a continuation of the series of performances, I realized a second episode in a forest environment, documented using a drone. I drew a square on the ground — an extension of the “Personal Opinion” idea; however, the shape turned out uneven and imperfect.
This imperfection was an important part of the statement: it reflects the nature of personal opinion, which is not always ideal or symmetrical, but remains alive and authentic.
The performance was carried out in complete isolation, in the forest, without an audience. This state of solitude became a key context of the work. The gesture emphasizes the necessity of maintaining inner boundaries and identity in the absence of external support, when a person is left alone with space and with themselves.

Performance 3

Helsinki's own opinion
Idea:
🟦 Performance “Personal Opinion (Helsinki)”
The third episode of the series was realized in the center of Helsinki. Unlike the previous works, I introduced a new layer of meaning — the inner space that a person maintains within a dense urban environment.
Helsinki, as a larger and more structured city, intensified the sense of pressure from the surrounding flow. The constant movement of people, the rhythm of the city, and its social dynamics created a tense field in which stillness became an act of holding one’s own position.
The work shifts the focus from physical form to an inner state — the ability to preserve personal boundaries and resilience under conditions of urban overload and continuous external influence.

About:
I developed the “Home Line” series in six stages. The idea of the project was to simplify and scale down the original artistic concept into a format that I could realize independently, without relying on external production resources.
As part of the project, educational materials and cards were created, as well as a system for producing the works independently at home. The project became an exploration of autonomous artistic production and accessible forms of art-making outside institutional and production support.

I have intentionally limited the scope of the text in order to maintain clarity and avoid overloading the presentation with information.
I hope for a positive decision.
