Collaboration with Vantaa City Museum: Preparing for the Upcoming Exhibition

Andrii Stopin with exhibition curator Sini Ojala at the Vantaa City Museum. The meeting focused on the upcoming exhibition “Pysyvä Vantaan muuttajat -näyttely,” highlighting cultural dialogue and professional collaboration.

Recently, I had the opportunity to meet with exhibition curator Sini Ojala at the Vantaa City Museum to discuss the details of the upcoming exhibition “Pysyvä Vantaan muuttajat -näyttely.” The conversation took place in a professional yet friendly atmosphere, where ideas could be freely exchanged and refined.

During the visit, I also gained a deeper understanding of the museum itself—its rich history, strong cultural presence, and significance for the Vantaa community. This meeting reminded me that Vantaa is not just a suburb of Helsinki, but a city with its own identity, businesses, cultural centers, and creative energy.

For me as an artist, such collaborations are especially valuable. They show that museums not only preserve heritage but also create new opportunities for dialogue between contemporary art and urban life. The professional approach of the Vantaa City Museum inspires great dedication, ensuring that historical and artistic ideas can be presented in their fullest form.

UNITY Larin Kyostin tie 7 HELSINKI 15/08/2025

Hello!
I would like to invite you to an upcoming art event in Helsinki that I have organized entirely on my own — from renting the venue to preparing the materials. It was not easy, but it is very important to me.

The initiative “Unity” is not just a painting, but a kind of “Easter egg” — unity itself. It is part of my artistic vision aimed at bringing together people of different nationalities through Ukrainian art.

Ukraine unites.

I would be grateful if those interested could come and support this project.
Thank you for your attention!

15.00 – 18:00
Rikhardinkadun Kirjasto, Rikhardinkatu 3, 00130, HELSINKI 22/08/2025

Hei!

Kiitos huomiosta!

"Invitation in English"
Unity is not sameness. It is the power to be different and still stand together. Threads may pull in different directions, but only together do they hold the fabric. Alone we tear. Together — we become the canvas for the painting.

““Sometimes an art session are not just about technique and art, but also about people, atmosphere, and genuine interaction. Even in a small group, you can experience the most vivid emotions, share experiences, and find inspiration. This day turned out to be just that - warm, meaningful, and memorable.”

“Each participant is like a world of their own.”

“Many artists are familiar with masterclasses attended by only one or two participants - this is not uncommon. What matters is not the number, but the quality. When you invest effort and expectations, and the audience is small, it’s no reason to be disappointed. On the contrary, such meetings can sometimes be more valuable than a full room: you can dive deeper, give your full attention to each person, and receive the most honest feedback.”

“Venue choice - Rikhardinkadun kirjasto, Helsinki.

A real jackpot: a historic building, spacious halls, and beautiful interior details. The atmosphere itself inspires creativity, and the walls quietly tell their long story.”

“In life, things don’t always go perfectly, but when something valuable is created, I know how to appreciate it. An atmospheric venue always enhances the outcome: a hundred attendees is impressive, but even one participant within these historic walls turns the meeting into something special and meaningful.”

“Behind every creative initiative lies a significant organizational process. Preparing canvases and paints, designing posters, managing logistics, budgeting, and allocating resources - all of this is the hidden yet essential part of the work that makes the event possible.”

Initiative “Unity”
As part of my author project “Unity,” I invited participants to a special location — an old historic building with its own unique atmosphere. However, the initiative itself took place outdoors, in the courtyard, where we were joined by local Finnish musicians.

Over cups of coffee, we talked, listened to live music, and painted together. I introduced participants to the basics of Ukrainian decorative painting, and they tried to follow my lead.

The main idea of the project is to unite people from different countries in a single canvas. Each person painted their part of the artwork in the traditional Ukrainian style. The result was uneven and not yet ready for an auction, but it turned out sincere and heartfelt — just like the gathering itself, where the process and atmosphere mattered more than a perfect result.

Often, when we face difficulties, we don’t really need advice — we need a hand to hold and a heart that understands. Perhaps the meaning of life is not to wait for the rain to stop, but to learn how to dance in the rain. I believe that tomorrow will be better than yesterday.

PETRYKIVKA PAINTING

I work across different disciplines and continuously explore new techniques. For me, this is a natural process: a single medium is never enough to fully express what I envision. Each idea demands its own language — sometimes painting, sometimes drawing, sculpture, or performance. I search for the most precise form of expression rather than confining myself to one tradition.
